Data Governance and Responsible AI Assurance, with Macquarie University

The shift

From reactive to proactive, and then predictive.

Most governance is archaeology: assessments completed once at the point of approval, evidence held in spreadsheets, documents and inboxes, status known only when somebody asks for a report, and gaps surfacing during an audit or after an incident.

This program inverts it. The same policies and the same obligations, evidenced continuously instead of retrospectively, with emerging risk surfaced as a signal weeks before it becomes an incident, a notification or a remediation program.

Proactive assurance

  • Assessment embedded in the workflow, at every gate
  • Evidence captured as the work happens, immutably
  • Live status for every use case, always current
  • Gaps flagged the moment they appear, to a named owner
  • Drift monitoring and threshold alerts, ahead of incidents

One total solution

Four stages. Each stands alone.

Literacy, capability, operating model and automation, delivered as a single solution built from our own products: the training runs through Academy, and CompliMe automates the evidence. Together the stages close the loop from awareness, to capability, to operating model, and to continuous evidence.

Stage 01 · Educate

Training

Literacy that holds up under scrutiny, built from the obligations rather than generic AI awareness content. Over 16 hours of university-grade data and AI risk literacy as e-learning and LMS content, delivered through Academy, designed and delivered with Macquarie University professors and tailored to your sector and workforce.

  • AI types and data risk: what changes when a system is agentic
  • Data governance essentials: roles, classification, retention, quality
  • Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles
  • Responsible AI: principles, policy and the AI lifecycle
  • Standards and sector regimes: ISO 27001, 42001, 42005, SOCI, CDR
  • Self-paced e-learning with online quizzes and workshops, on the Macquarie University LMS and through Academy
  • Leaders and practitioners pathways, sector-tailored, certified micro-credential on completion
Stage 02 · Enable

Workshops

Four scenario-based executive and practitioner sessions, in person, with one scenario carried end to end. Leaders rehearse real governance decisions on a realistic AI use case before they face one. Each group produces a complete Data and AI Governance Report for a high-risk agentic AI system, defended in front of their peers.

  • Foundations of data and AI risk: a data risk baseline
  • Data governance and privacy: a compliance review
  • Responsible AI in the lifecycle: an RAI assessment
  • Standards and board recommendation, defended in front of peers
Stage 03 · Embed

Advisory

The operating model established inside your organisation: roles and accountabilities, data domains, policies, playbooks and governance forums. Our team of full professors works alongside your teams, and it is not a document handover: the roles, forums and assessment machinery are stood up with the people who will run them, so the model survives the engagement.

  • Data owners, stewards, custodians and AI owners, named by domain
  • Policies and playbooks: a governed hierarchy, versioned, not a folder of documents
  • Forums and escalation tiers: who decides what, at which risk level
  • Assessments and registers: screening to residual risk, controls with RACI, registers as evidence
Stage 04 · Automate

CompliMe

Our governance platform product, built on AWS and Claude. It runs the Data Governance and Responsible AI framework and produces the evidence: registration, assessments, controls, approvals, audit trails and live dashboards, with a live workflow view of current node, risk tier, gates and references.

  • Register: every AI and data use case, against your own taxonomy
  • Assess: screening, inherent and residual risk, from your templates
  • Approve: routed to the accountable person, role or forum
  • Evidence: immutable audit trail, live scorecards, forum packs
Continuous assurance

Evidence, as the work happens.

Assessment embedded at every gate, evidence captured immutably as the work happens, emerging risk surfaced weeks before it becomes an incident. Delivered with Macquarie University; most recently for a major Australian telco.

Flagship program

Responsible AI, made defensible.

Organisations and universities are scaling AI across operations, teaching and customer touchpoints just as Australian regulatory expectations take shape. That creates two practical needs: governance literacy for accountable leaders, and audit-ready delivery habits for the teams building AI systems.

Our hybrid program builds both. Developed with Macquarie University, it pairs structured e-learning with expert-agent-led workshops, customised to your organisation's own policies, frameworks and documents in sessions with your subject-matter experts. E-learning is grounded in academic literature, ISO 27001, 42001 and 42005 and Australian policy; workshops run on scenario simulation and your own case studies. Most recently, it was delivered for a major Australian telco.

Request a briefing

A working session. Not a sales deck.

We will walk your team through the program, the operating model and a live CompliMe environment, using a use case from your own portfolio. Tell us a little about your organisation and what you carry (obligations, sector, stage) and we'll come back with a session mapped to it. Including when the honest answer is that you don't need all four stages.

  • A working session, not a sales deck
  • Mapped to the obligations you actually carry
  • Delivered with Macquarie University professors
